Volunteer with Words Alive

There is more than one way to help a child discover the joy and power of reading. Whether you want to help prepare books and learning materials, read with students, review books from home, or bring a group together for a service project, there is a place for you at Words Alive.

Help Behind the Scenes

Where the Wild Books Are

Help us prepare books, learning kits, classroom materials, and other resources for young readers at our East Village office. These casual volunteer days are a great fit for individuals, families, book clubs, corporate teams, and community groups. No experience or ongoing commitment required.

Bring Your Group

Group Service Projects

Bring your coworkers, book club, family, or community group together for a hands-on service project. Groups assemble learning kits, prepare books, and support Words Alive events, all while building connection with one another.
